This flyer was created for a personal project: a fundraiser and tribute concert honoring the life of my close friend, Andrew Ponicki. Andrew was a dedicated musician who spent decades touring and playing in various bands, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met in the punk and indie music scenes.
The event brought together friends, fellow musicians, and members of the community to celebrate his life through music. All proceeds from the show were donated to charity in his name. As part of the tribute, we also produced a 7" vinyl record featuring Andrew’s final recorded songs—a way to preserve his voice and musicianship for those who knew him and for future listeners.
The flyer design needed to reflect the emotion and sincerity of the event while also speaking to the DIY spirit Andrew embodied. It was a meaningful piece to create, and an honor to contribute creatively to a cause so close to home.
7" Vinyl Sleeve Artwork – Hand-Drawn & Screen Printed
The artwork for the 7" vinyl sleeve was created specifically for the tribute release, which featured Andrew Ponicki’s last recordings. I illustrated the piece using ink on watercolor paper to give it a raw, tactile quality that matched both the emotional tone of the project and Andrew’s analog, hands-on approach to music.
The final design was screen printed by Hamster Labs in Phoenix, with a limited run of 300 copies. Each sleeve was printed with care, reflecting the same dedication that Andrew brought to every performance and recording. The result is a physical keepsake that not only holds his music, but serves as a visual tribute to his legacy.
